LAVA meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m., excluding July and August. A link to join the online meeting is sent out to members one week in advance of the meeting. If you would like to register as a guest please contact email@example.com.

Here about the state of LAVA’s affairs as well as updates from local, provincial, national and international volunteer professional groups, allied nonprofits, and advocacy bodies. Hear about what professional development will be offered at LAVA meetings in the coming months.
Many times the discussion is opened up for general topics in a Soapbox atmosphere, either presented by an attendee or collected at previous meetings. This often generates more discussion than the time allotted allows for and becomes a topic for follow up in the program portion of a future meeting.
Guest Speakers or Self-Led discussion
At every meeting either a guest speaker will be on hand to speak on a timely topic or issue, or group discussion will be led by our program chairs on subjects that have been determined by our members.
We have 2 workshop Breakfast Meetings throughout the year; one in January and another in June.
Both events bring in special guest speakers to bring information and resources that we can grow as a profession and keep current with trends, policies and best practices. Tickets are available for both members and their guests.
The June meeting is also our Annual General Meeting where the executive slate is presented for the upcoming year.
We have enjoyed participation through LAVA’s group access in the annual VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT HYBRID CONFERENCE! A modest fee is charged to help cover the costs. This year’s theme is Managing Risk.
